It has come to our attention that there is an email scam circulating, targeting attendees to the May Conference (FIDSSA 2024)
The scam involves fraudulent emails requesting your arrival and departure dates for travel to a conference taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in May.
Please be advised that this email is not legitimate and should be treated with extreme caution. Our organization has not initiated any such communication regarding travel arrangements for conferences. We are committed to ensuring the security and confidentiality of your personal information, and we urge you not to respond to any unsolicited emails requesting such details.
In light of this scam, we recommend the following precautions:
• Verify the Sender: Always verify the authenticity of emails by checking the sender’s email address carefully. Legitimate emails from our organization will typically come from official domains.
• Exercise Caution with Personal Information: Refrain from sharing sensitive personal information, such as travel dates, via email unless you are certain of the recipient’s identity and the legitimacy of the request.
• Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive any suspicious emails or communications, please report them immediately our team.
